Our government is violating human rights in our name. Human beings are beings violated on Manus island where real people like you and I are being deprived of food and water and imprisoned. They are being punished for having the misfortune of being born into political, religious, or financial regimes where freedom of thought and speech are denied and brutality, rape, deprivation, torture or death are commonplace.
Their quest for sanctuary from pitiful situations is being shunned by Australia through the spin of righteous border protection and fearmongering about difference, culture, religion, language and terrorism.
Many of these people in the present have been found to be genuine refuges according to United Nations conventions and yet the Australian government continues punitive actions that deny welcome, safety and freedom. The government so punitive and devious, that they have shelved their shameful response to a global humanitarian crisis onto an impoverished country Manus. Australia has even denied the generous invitation of New Zealand to alleviate a crisis by offering to take them into their own country.
We seem to have forgotten that most of us unless we have aboriginal ancestry are relatively newcomers to this colonised land. Australian colonisation continues into the present by those who are fortunate enough to fulfil the criteria required to gain entry and is a highly successful multiracial society. Many people from a wide range of cultures including former boatpeople are now upstanding members of our society.
But what of those who flee for their lives leaving everything behind with nowhere to go?
All nations are opening their borders in these difficult times.
The world is witnessing our shame.
In Australia we have a history that we are not facing. We are still struggling to fully acknowledge the treatment of our forebearers towards our indigenous people. This was an invasion marked by violence, blood and injustice that to this day has not been properly acknowledged, by word, law or appropriate action. A simple ‘sorry’ by Kevin Rudd was a touching move in a healing direction, but not enough.
Aboriginal people are still disadvantaged and lack the autonomy and dignity to run their lives, in their own way and remain largely excluded in their home land.
Such scars leave an imprint on both the victims and those of us who have gained from their exclusion. That is all non-indigenous people. This leaves the weight of guilt that is carried for generations to come until it is seen, felt and honoured, and most of all put right.
For some reason Australian consciousness can open its hearts to survivors of the holocaust and at the same time feel justified in their cruelty to people in need of help now.
We are setting a deep karmic pattern by our silence. In the Family Constellations process it is repeatedly found that many people are blocked from fulfilling their potential by a sense of guilt that is often traced back to what happened in previous generations. They carry the weight of their forebearers through the systemic mind until it can be seen, accepted and resolved in such processes as a Family Constellation. This has the power to set them free, if done sincerely. Nations carry guilt too.
Lets wake up and insist on compassion, generosity and safety for those who have fallen on hard times and stop allowing our government to act so shamefully in our name. Lets learn from our past and stop a humanitarian disaster unfolding on our doorstep as we look away, so that our children do not have to look back in shame at our complacency and acceptance of vilification and cruelty.
Let the world instead focus on the global inequities of power and finance and the governing tyrants at the roots of mass migration to find a sustainable solution rather than punishing the victims.
As a Family Constellation practitioner I facilitate such healing on a daily basis but cant stay silent any longer about what is being done in my name. Prevention is always better than attempting to cure.
While the Family Constellation process is powerful in promoting healing, love and connection, let us bring our humanity to the forefront as Australians of 2017 in the name of peace, love and a fair go.
I hold Family Constellations workshops regularly and have a training coming up soon in January 2018 so that many more of us can take on the role of facilitators in our own corner of the nation in showing that love is a quality that can only grow in its sharing. A candlelight shared does not diminish, but continues to grow in brightness as it spreads through a sea of candles.
Nothing is lost by its sharing.
I visualise a time when Family Constellations are taking place on every street throughout the country and we have reconnected with our hearts and see each other regardless of race or class, as a reflection of ourselves or our loved ones, so that divisions, prejudice and racism are a thing of the past.

How much did your training cost in time and money?
Did it equip you to work in a grounded and practical way with the real problems that people face in daily life? Mental-health, lifestyle and relationship issues?
Have you been wanting to become a practitioner but are put off by the style of education and the costs and time involved?
“I did a degree in counselling which I found highly informative and enjoyable but when I started having clients I found I was poorly equipped to help people in a practical and meaningful way.” Karen
“My social work training was something I always wanted to do, but now I feel my passion to be there for people is insufficient to really make a difference in their lives. I would love to have more effective therapeutic skills so people can really heal, grow and move on.” David

I am now so much more confident about offering great service to the public in being able to deal so much more competently with the wide range of issues that come through my door.” Richard
“Having finally done Family Constellation training I don’t know why I didn’t do it before. This has given me all the tools I need to help my clients in so many ways and so deeply and quickly. It has changed my practice and my business completely”. Megan

Our culture encourages us to think of ourselves as individuals primarily. This is true of the modern west while other cultures continue to experience a deep connection to their lineage with an awareness of what they carry with their ancestors. From those cultures it is often possible for the people to have a deep respect and knowing of the names and the lives of their forefathers and mothers and the events that shaped their lives.
Our individual perception is a problem for us because it means we are missing a realm of experience that continues to be present in our blind spots. Behaviour, thoughts, feelings and patterns that play out in us, as if they have a life of their own that may feel foreign to us. It is not in our conscious awareness and yet it is present and wants to be seen.
There is no doubt that most of what we carry especially DNA is essential for our survival. DNA is the code of our existence and functions. However our genetic imprint is transferred through the emotional and sensual impulse of our ancestors on a deep well of love. A love that connects one generation to the next with sex, emotion and love connecting us all. From desire, attraction and sex we come into the world. Once here whether we are a surprise, wanted or inconvenient, parents largely take responsibility for their actions and do what they can to support and nurture us in the best way they can with what they have and what they know.
If we consider this we may appreciate the value of those who came before us.
Systemic disturbances occur due to tragedies, shocks, trauma and exclusions of people in our family system. Such disturbances often result in shame or simply too much to process, overwhelm and having no where to go leaves an echo in our shared DNA. The study of epigentics demonstrates this clearly. Trauma and deep emotions leave an imprint through relational bonds and seek expression in us. This comes out as behaviour patterns, feelings and thoughts and also dis- ease of many kinds.
Family Constellations is a systemic process that shows what we carry for and with our family system and this includes the blocks and unresolved disturbances from the past as well as the love at its core. This includes health issues of every kind that may seek expression in the system.
A Family Constellation can locate the echoes that are calling you, giving you the opportunity to find our more about your ancestral line and what drives and sustains you and possibly resolve systemic health issues.
We know that many illnesses have a genetic component. However, epigentics has shown that many disease genes may be turned on or off according to our choices in life style, psychological health and emotional states. We also know that the separation between mind and body is largely undefined as they are deeply interlinked. This means that anything that can relieve or resolve these imprints may make a difference to our overall health.
In Family Constellations workshops people often arrive who want to look at an illness or dis- ease that can be traced back to a shock or imprint from former generations. Simply exposing them and allowing the system to release them and find a better order can be sufficient to allow more freedom for a person in the present that promotes better health. After such a process a person may be able to continue with their medical practitioners in a more productive way with the seat of the disturbance exposed.
Through my Family Constellation experience of over twelve years I have witnessed many health changes following a constellation process. Of course we mustn’t forget that at some point we all face death and there are cases where nothing can be done, other than a constellation to assist in coming to better place of acceptance and peace.
As a facilitator and trainer I regularly hold workshops and training to facilitate inner healing, reconnection to the family system and to the bigger realms of humanity. This can nourish a sense of belonging and result in more wellbeing.
I am holding an advanced Disease and Wellness Constellation training on 10-12 November, International Family Constellations foundation training on 3-11 January 2018 and a workshop on 18-19 November 2017. Through these my intention is to provide a place where people can connect with themselves in a fuller way and reconnect to their people and the vastness of humanity.
In listening to the echo’s from the past in a process such as Family Constellations it is possible for each of us to become more whole, grounded and humble and still fulfil our potential as human beings. It also alerts us to the fact that our own lives and actions also have an imprint on future generations, both individually and collectively. Its easy to see what effects our treatment of the indigenous people of this land has had on the present generation who continue to struggle with a legacy of injustice and poor self esteem. Its probably not surprising that they suffer a higher than average rate of poor health and both the descendants of aborigines and those who benefit from their loss, (the rest of us) continue to carry burdens. Both individual and national healing is required here.
A bigger collective perspective of us all that may be gained through a constellation allows us to gain an aware of our place, not only in our families but also in our culture and in the greater sea of humanity. In this we are all the same.
I envision a future where we embrace both our individual and collective view of ourselves and listen to the echo’s from the past and what they have to reveal. In this way we can experience a healthy release of disturbances that enrich us for better health and vitality. In this vision I see uniting and healing processes such as Family Constellations as part of the fabric of societies throughout the world in being a valuable in freeing and nurturing each generation by connecting them to the flow of love of us all. In such a world there is excitement, hope and better health.

There is no doubt its time for women to speak out on sexual misconduct not only in the workplace but in daily life. Speaking out is a powerful and appropriate response that requires courage and clarity in giving back the guilt and shame to the perpetrators involved and a society that condones silence.
I know there are many men out there who cringe at how women are treated by their male colleagues who may also feel the need to speak up. We welcome your support at this time.
Speaking out is a response to the symptoms of patriarchy involving a deeply felt entitlement that still thrives in modern society forty years after women of the seventies burned their bras as a symbol of emancipation. There are still few women in positions of power and women continue to be judged in a way that does not take place with men, on their gender qualities and appearance.
The main problem as I see it is that women are not given a place to be who and how they are, that is of equal value. Present day women continue to be conditioned into playing roles of subservience. This includes navigating a web of unspoken rules where women are seduced into attempt to sooth their feminine insecurities around not being accepted or good enough by stroking the egos of men.
It’s a fact that its still not cool for women to show intelligence or capability in fields where men operate. There are few organisations where male ego, high testosterone levels and loyalty to the boys club may be put aside in favour of sound judgment based on merit and justice in providing a level playing field for both men and women.
Speaking out is a first step. It is action to let men know that what is taking place is not OK and changes need to be made.
But what of the women? Being heard has value but what do they do with their feelings, thoughts and trauma? Many may be advised to go to counselling, self-help groups or forums for sharing and support.
I have been working with victims of sexual abuse for many years. These consist of mainly women and some men, many of whom have received extensive counselling or long term involvement with self-help groups who have remained victimised and traumatised by what happened and consider themselves survivors of their abuse, often years later. They have not moved on.
Through my work I know that the incidence of sexual abuse is far larger than is reported. Many of my clients have not and prefer not to disclose or report sexual misconduct due to the shame and guilt they feel at being its victim and the fear of not being believed or receiving further ridicule. They don’t trust a justice system that is run primarily by men over seeing mainly male perpetrators.
I have developed a way of enabling recovery from sexual misconduct and abuse in all its shades that is brief, non-traumatising, sensitive, respectful and effective in only a few sessions. In this approach speaking out is a first step, releasing pent up emotions comes next and then offloading guilt and shame and reaffirming clear boundaries and taking back autonomy and dignity within is the average session sequence. The process is designed to avoid retraumatisation. This is a process where people come out of victimhood, recover their dignity and no longer hold shame or guilt and move forward in their lives in a more purposeful way in only a few sessions for most people. This is EMI Emotional Mind Integration and Family Constellations. This is presented in the book Rapid Core Healing (2016)
The power games we see in organisations are also present in the dynamics between couples and in families and play a large part in providing role models for children to aspire to. What children experience at home is often reaffirmed in education, particularly in same sex schooling and the media and is what they take out into the world. In this men need to step up and take responsibility for themselves in their role as fathers and husbands and women need to step up in solidarity with each other in insisting on equality and dignity across all fields of life: Personal and professional. Yin with Yang. Men and women complimenting each other and glorious in their own way. There is no need to put the other down due to insecurities and fear. Such families can provide real change for the next generation.
I believe we are at a crossroads where we can take stock of where were at and make the changes not only to the law, the court system, family or society, but also in our hearts and minds as human beings, fathers and mothers.
We need to upholding the right for women to take their place fully in society and this includes dismantling glass ceilings and the entitlement of mens’ networks to shut women out and stop them from developing their potential and allow them to fulfil their role as feminine beings. I visualise a time where women have the right to be who they ar with intelligence and pride and to share their sensuality only with those they choose. This is a human right.

In order to be successful in a business or career many elements need to be in place. These may include vision, goals, business plans, resources and connections along with specific knowledge, skills and marketing to attract sales and profit. While these are valid considerations in organisations, the importance of recognising the value of the culture of the business or human system and the inner worlds of those in the system, is often left out of the equation.
The problem as I see it is a business may have a history and culture that is pivotal to its Being as an entity, while individuals within it have their own inner world in operation that has an effect. The human system from the CEO to the Board and employees make up a complex mix of confluences and conflicts that must have an effect on how the business operates. Both of these aspects need to be considered.
The inner world of individuals consists of thoughts, emotions and desires infused with childhood experiences, family history, genetic code and culture that have the affect of creating a unique essence of its own.
The main problem is in business we forget that energy drives everything. Energy is the driving force within the universe, galaxies and planets and is converted to the solid stuff of matter : Non-living and living. Energy is in a state of constant transformation. This is central to our bodily form and human systems alike and yet we mostly do not consider energy in organisations, business or career at all.
Businesses are human systems, through which we produce products, services and financial systems, where we may pursue careers driven by aspiration, will and creativity. The purpose of which is for personal and organisational success, but ultimately for more fulfilment and happiness.
As with Family Constellations our inner structures, associations, feelings and perceptions create our reality. If this is healthy we may expect all to go well. This is often discounted in the business and professional worlds alike. Likewise, the history, culture, structure, roles and the essence of a company have an effect on its success, as do internal, social and business structures.
If the energy of a system has an essence, then finding alignments with the people within it can assist in discovering any compatibility or symmetry that can result in a profitable business. So too discovering what is misaligned and creating blocks in the system can provide useful information to organisations, businesses or individualcareers and the process of planning, streamlining or reorganising.
I have been conducting Business Constellations in workshops and private sessions for the last twelve years and am frequently impressed by what comes to light that could not have been shown in any other way. A Constellation shows the core of problems and possible solutions in one process.
Business Constellations may be used to clear and strengthen the inner world of individuals and reorganise and align them with organisations and their goals.
On a personal level Business Constellations may be used to resolve feelings of unworthiness, blocks and sabotage that hold people back from success, and assist in restructuring business plans and goals to enable healthy growth.
For organisations, Business Constellations may be used to optimise and restructure culture, HR, management, employees and attract customers so as to form a more productive work environment.
Business Constellations are popular with those involved in personal and professional development and is a potent way or working with organisational matters in offering unique insights that reveal both strengths and blind spots and hence more clarity for decision making and quickly
Business constellations may take place in private sessions and workshops or seminars and training is available for those who wish to provide this service to the business world.
I visualise a world where Business Constellations are a popular requirement of individuals to enable them to fulfil their potential. They are used in business organisations for planning and restructuring along with marketing to ensure that their human system is in good shape to deliver profits and wellbeing to all within it. A healthy, profitable business that is of value to the wellbeing of the community.

Why Do Business Constellation Training?
The problem is that companies often look only at facts, figures, technology, marketing and seek guidance from accountants, business studies and research with little consideration of the social or cultural essence of the humanity that is at the crux of their network.
As with Family Constellations our inner structures, associations, feelings and perceptions create our reality. If this is healthy we may expect all to go well. This is often discounted in the business and professional worlds. Family Constellations is a powerful, phenomenological, experiential modality that provides pathways out of disturbances, burdens, patterns and trauma inherited through the family system. The founder of Family Constellations is the German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger.
The process facilitates a healthier reconnection to the love therein so as to nurture a sense of worthiness. Worthiness is at the core of self-esteem, the potential for happiness and success. The Family Constellation process may take place in workshops or private sessions.
Family Constellations locates the roots of human emotional and psychological disturbances that come from the family system that may be experienced through what is known in constellation arenas as the Knowing field. It is a complete psychotherapy modality with its own philosophy, theory and practice for the resolution of a wide range of systemic (generational related) issues and trauma.
Sethi recognised that human beings carry two strands of potential disturbances that can hold them back from being the person they can be. These have their roots in either the family system, or personal life choices and experiences, or both. Sethi recognised that each required a specialised approach to enable accurate and effective treatment.
The problem is, we attempt to solve more stubborn, destructive or uncomfortable thoughts, feelings or behaviours with logic or behavioural strategies when they often have their roots in generational patterns or the unconscious mind. This means that thinking it through, or applying strategies to a problem with its roots locked in fear or trauma cannot provide an effectively lasting solution if the chosen approaches are not equipped to deal with them at the appropriate level or manner.
The good news is the generational mind is not only the source of problems, but also a treasure trove of wisdom, creativity, innovation and possibilities as each of us are the result of all that has gone before us. This means we each have access to a rich pool of possible resources. When these are elicited they can allow you to find your best solutions and result in a deep understanding of yourself and others. From this place new perspectives can materialise from which to move forward with more confidence with the potential for more joy and better relationships.
The Ancestral Brain is discussed in this article http://familyconstellations.com.au/make-peace-with-yourself-through-family-constellations/
These ideas are confirmed by the study of epigentics that shows that we carry much more from our ancestors than we had previously assumed.
Epigentics is showing that trauma, disturbed emotions and patterns are inextricably linked or embedded in the DNA we receive at birth. This means that a person who comes from a particular culture will receive the essence of what has gone before them in that culture. Of course this includes love and belonging and also the shocks their family system has experienced particularly those that could not be processed at the time. These may include societal or family trauma, genocide, the effects of war and famine as well as unresolved relational and emotional pain. These feelings and shocks appear to reside largely in our blind spots. In our unconscious mind or in what I have come to think of as our generational mind or ancestral brain and come out in feelings behaviour and patterns in our life.
Family Constellations sits in a phenomenological framework and is brief, experiential and solution-focused that is at the forefront of psychotherapy developments for the twenty first century and suitable for a wide range of mental health and personal development issues alike. It is cost effective in providing treatment suitable for the broad population of any culture.

Focus on Healing following the Truth and Justice Royal Commission into Sexual Abuse copyright Yildiz Sethi
The Truth and Justice Royal Commission into Sexual abuse is a powerful step in shining a light on what happens when we allow any organisation to become a moral and unfettered law unto itself in the name of religion, profit or so called higher powers. I applaud the unveiling of ‘in-house’ codes of behaviour where turning a ‘blind eye’ to dirty secrets is normalised into common practice.
The commission shows how a culture of loyalties, entitlement and corruption can fester in cloistered communities. Places where the natural functions of sexual desire are seen as dirty and inappropriate for those who follow Catholic or other devotion paths. In these movements natural sexuality is repressed with nowhere to go other than frustration, self loathing or perversity for some.
In these situations lie covers lie until turning back is too much of a step-down for the inflated egos of such organisations to contemplate.
A silent moral code was developed out of vested interests, outdated beliefs, depraved morals and religious power that remained unchecked by current societal standards. This became the rationale for putting the face of the church first and children and families last.
But what of the abused children, mums, dads and grandparents who have been cut adrift? Lives ruined.
What is being done about them?
There is no doubt that being heard and believed can be helpful and compensation can provide material comforts or pay for much needed services. But this is only the first step. Much more is needed not only to compensate for wrong doing or manage symptoms, but to aid recovery.
Such abuse shatters people in many ways.
It destroys faith in oneself, the system and religion. Causes the victim to suffer alone due to the shame they carry. Shame at the nature of the abuse itself and why they were singled out for it and for not being able to protect themselves, speak up or bring the perpetrators to justice. Shame is a powerful force.
In addition there is often the shame of secrecy in not disclosing to family due to the disbelief and turmoil it would cause. They are often highly aware of the trust and faith their families had in believing their children were receiving a safe and values-based education and ignorant of the hidden predatory nature of some within the organisation.
I do feel sorry for the clergy who had nothing to do with this betrayal because they too have been let down by the actions of a few who have been upheld by a corrupt system. They too are unjustly smeared by the disgrace.
The problem is the damage does not stop at the ones who were abused. The trauma of abuse sets up an intense range of conflicting feelings, thoughts and disturbances. Sometimes the abused person is so disturbed it spills out into abuse of others. Many victims of abuse self medicate their pain with substances such as drugs or alcohol and many become mentally ill. Their careers are frequently hard to maintain, family break up is common and many victims live a troubled life overall.
Sexual abuse is a crime that goes largely unreported. I know this because many of my clients come wanting help in recovery from unreported sexual abuse. Often unreported due to the feelings of shame and a lack of confidence in the justice system.
Such trauma can leave a destructive trail for many generations into the future: Broken parents unable to parent adequately and so the cycle continues. The consequences of abuse are vast.
Unfortunately there is a belief that significant recovery from sexual abuse is not possible. I have found this to be untrue, as I have facilitated countless people in putting their lives together in a meaningful ways in their recovery. Assisted them in putting the past where is needs to be, so they don’t have to consider themselves as worthless, broken or damaged goods any more. Enabled them to find their resources and create more so they can engage in life.
Traditionally, abused people are offered counselling. In my experience of working therapeutically over seventeen years, I have found that while there may be value in being heard this can also be retraumatizing. Traditional counselling, self help groups and management of symptoms often lead to individuals remaining victims of abuse, even many years later .
There is a better way.
As a psychotherapist I have found that going through what happened in a traumatic incident in detail unhelpful towards recovery. This is explained fully in my book Rapid Core Healing Pathways to Growth and emotional healing (2016).
Incest is sexual abuse that runs through family systems. The shame and secrecy of it drives the abuse compulsions. Constellations show how such compulsions can lose their power through bringing them into light. This is the most powerful and effective way of resolving systemic sexual abuse patterns for. The Family Constellation goes deep to allow a solution to arise and order to be restored to the system so that the family members in the present can find their best place with it and move on with more freedom.
For seemingly non-systemic abuse that appears to start in the present I have developed a way of working with the trauma of sexual abuse called EMI (Emotional Mind Integration) that not only promotes survival, but also allows people to find healthier resolutions in their mind and heart. EMI is a powerful neuro-trance psychotherapy. The EMI process makes it possible to put the past behind them for the most part and move on in a productive way with more peace.
EMI presents a new way of viewing the mind as a range of emotional mind states. The modality locates disturbed or traumatised emotional mind states through specific neural pathways. This is an accurate, efficient and effective methodology that is highly sensitive to individual needs. The process is designed to locate the original event, find a suitable resolution through an EMI healing pathway and complete with integration within each session. This is not retraumatizing. Rather, it is relieving. In this way only a few sessions are required to enable a sexual abuse victim to move on with their life. This is a brief therapeutic approach.

The next EMI Emotional Mind Integration training takes place in September 2017 Details
I have a vision of educating children into knowing that they never have to suffer being touched or used for the sexual gratification of adults under any circumstance. There are deeply integrated systems connecting education, justice and psychotherapeutic interventions with individuals, families and the wider public. Everyone knows where to go with the confidence of a fair hearing, so that such breaches and betrayals do not go unnoticed. No organisations are above the law and the societal moral codes of decency ensure children are free to be children and to grow into health open-hearted adults who have the potential to live rewarding lives.

‘A Stitch in time saves nine’. RCH Couples therapy.
Most people assume that when we find the right partner that love will sustain the relationship through the ups and downs of life. However we often form a marriage or relationship while young and inexperienced before we really know who we are.
We cannot foresee how we will grow and develop and how we will feel twenty or more years later. We also cannot know the consequences of our choices or the kinds of events that we will have to face. How can we?
Our culture is such that we often don’t look for help in our relationship until it has reached critical or chronic proportions even though there are clear signals along the way that things are not going well. We may not want to spend the money or time to sort it out for many reasons and turn a blind eye until it is beyond repair.
But how much does a divorce cost in money, time, chaos and hurt as the life of a couple and family disintegrate?
Couples therapy may take place through many models. Most involve couples sessions only and focus primarily on communication and expressing feelings as well as strategies for living more harmoniously together. In short a discussion of problems, needs, feelings and expectations and how the couple may improve their relationship.
In my experience of over seventeen years with couples talk therapy alone does not resolve the deeper-seated issues that couples face. Couples issues involve communication, sex, infidelity, finance, trust, previous partners, children and extended family. The problem is even though these areas may be perceived as issues, they are often symptomatic of deeper dysfunctions.
If the crux of such issues were simply communication, behaviour and misunderstandings these may be resolved through a counselling process successfully. And many are. However if deep-seated issues remain after counselling, I have found continuing talk therapy to be unhelpful. Deeper issues need to be resolved at the level they arise. The roots of these often reside in blind spots in the mind and are often unconscious or part of their family systems.
Here is an example. A couple were concerned about the lack of trust that a man had in his wife. In discussion it was disclosed that his mother had been unfaithful to his father even though their marriage had remained intact. He was very aware of his father’s pain. In looking at the history of his partner, her father had left the family for another woman. It was clear that mistrust and the pain of infidelity had been a real experience for both of their family systems. Talk or cognitive therapy is unlikely to go deep enough to resolve such deep emotional drivers so they can start to build more trust between them. A Family Constellation was able to help each of the couple resolve their own family of origin issues so they could look back at each other with new eyes and start the process of a new start to their relationship.
Another couple was struggling with the level of anger the wife had for her partner. She had experienced significant abuse by her father. In looking at her family of origin through a Family Constellation she was able to acknowledge, express and resolve the rage she felt for what had happened and then was able to look at her husband in a different way. She immediately felt a pang of guilt for blaming him for her rage as she realised it had little to do with him and their life together. The anger she had directed at him had been misplaced. If we had stayed in a traditional talk therapy or cognitive approach there may well have been some awareness raised for the couple, but this is unlikely to have changed the instinctive reactive pattern that they were locked into.
I am a psychotherapist and Family Constellations facilitator who is the founder of Rapid Core Healing (RCH) couples-therapy and Emotional Mind Integration (EMI). These are new and effective ways of working with couples that allows each of the couple to resolve their family of origin issues and also the relationship itself for deeper effective solutions. I am the founder of EMI and RCH. These modalities have been formulated through my work with couples and families. The RCH couple approach requires only one to a few groups of four sessions for most couples rather months or years of traditional therapies making it cost and time efficient.
Once family of origin projections are no longer playing out between the couple it is possible to focus on each of their emotional mind states, connection and communication. I find that once these deeper invisible dynamics are resolved other factors fall into place relatively easily. The Family Constellation process operated on many levels simultaneously. The conscious, unconscious, family system, body senses and according to its founder Bert Hellinger the personal and family soul.
RCH couple therapy is a relatively quick process where deep-seated generational patterns along with personal ones of expectations, roles, communication and boundaries may be resolved from one to several series of the four-sessions program. This may take place in workshops or private or skype sessions,
I visualise a time where couples seek help at many stages of their relationship knowing it to be a cost effective and valuable way of keeping their relationship alive. Not only to save a relationship when it is in crisis, but also to sustain and enrich it, or alternatively to enable the best separation they can have so that they can move forward in a good way. Such a philosophy and program would provide mature and healthy role models for children to witness with the message that its Ok to ask for help at times because ‘A stitch in time saves nine’.

At this time in our history most of us are conditioned into believing we are self sufficient and autonomous. This is what modern men and women believe is empowering.
What has become apparent is that this is not totally true.
The study of epigentics is showing that we carry much more from our ancestors than we had previously assumed.
Epigentics is showing that trauma, disturbed emotions and patterns are inextricably linked or embedded in the DNA we receive at birth. This means that a person who comes from a particular culture will receive the essence of what has gone before them. Of course this includes love and belonging and also the shocks their family system has experienced particularly those that could not be processed at that time. These may include societal or family trauma, genocide, the effects of war and famine as well as unresolved relational pain. These feelings and shocks appear to reside largely in our blind spots. In our unconscious mind or in what I have come to think of as our generational mind.
While it is true that you are a unique individual, you are also highly relational.
Originally we were born into tribes and formed strong bonds of loyalty to each other. This served a purpose. It served the survival of the tribe and the individuals within it. Being disconnected or excluded from the group would often result in death.
My work with individuals shows repeatedly that such tribal or relational connections are much more important that most people realise. At our core our tribal identity is still pivotal to our health and wellbeing. We are born into families with an intense deep web of loyalties and connections with others. We are deeply linked to all that has gone before us and to people we have never met.
This is how we may be born into a sense of guilt, shame, sadness, anger or sabotage patterns that make no logical sense to the biography of our individual lives. And yet they continue to play out until they are resolved.
Many of us believe that awareness is the answer. I have found that being aware is only one step and does not provide a more fulfilling solution. Awareness is a knowing that is conscious. It does not in itself have the power to resolve the underlying dynamics that operate within us. This involves unconscious, loyalties and conflicts and such elements as emotions, visions and messages that are part of our family system. In many cases attempting to think through such deeply felt issues does not resolve them, as they often require experiential processing. This takes place at deeper levels of the psyche and includes the body, heart and also generational consciousness in order to be resolved and released.
I often have clients who have done much personal development who are frustrated that they have not been able to free themselves from the patterns that bind them from being able to develop and enjoy their life with more freedom. Deeply help patterns appear to be stubborn to resolution by conventional counselling or coaching.
I have been working with Family Constellations since 2005 in holding monthly workshops and private sessions.
Prior to that I was a counsellor psychotherapist and unaware of the effects of the family system on myself and those close to me. I had no idea of the patterns that were unconsciously running in me, and the effects they were having on my wellbeing and relationships. The discovery through Family Constellations was groundbreaking in that it gave me an avenue to come to peace with myself on many levels. From here I was able to more consciously navigate my life. This became a significant crossroad in my life resulting in a radical change in the way I worked with clients. I embraced Family Constellations as a more authentic way of helping others make deep and effective changes in themselves and their lives.
I found that change had to start with me first. I had to go through my own processing within my system to allow space for an arrival to a better place. Only then could this flow out to those around me. Previously my unconscious patterns even with good intentions, were running the show. I was not fully capable of providing a way forward for others and their family systems when I was coming from a place of entanglement and confusion myself.
I was not in the right place to hold a space for the healthy unfolding and resolution in others until I had experienced my own.
It is exciting to be working with Family Constellations at a time when neural science and epigentics are becoming mainstream and educating the public in how genetic memory travels through generations and how the brain is capable of rewiring itself. Rewiring new neural pathways for better feeling, mindset, health and wellbeing.
I look forward to the time when doctors, alternative and traditional health workers refer patients to Family Constellations practitioners as part of a wholistic health practice in knowing that healthily connected individuals are more likely to respond favourably to healing methodologies when they are at peace with themselves and their bloodlines.
